Summer Solstice
In the Northern Hemisphere, Summer Solstice (Where we as Alaskans resides) marks the LONGEST day of the year.
The summer solstice, also known as midsummer, occurs when a planet’s rotational axis or geographical pole on either its Northern or its Southern Hemisphere is most greatly inclined toward the star that it orbits. On the summer solstice, Earth’s maximum axial tilt toward the Sun is 23.44°. This happens twice each year, once in each hemisphere, when the Sun reaches its highest position in the sky as seen from the North or South Pole. [Wikipedia]
Now if we lived south of the equator, The Summer Solstices in the Southern Hemisphere is actually reversed (shortest day of the year) and it actually ‘Winter Solstices.’
Especially [us Alaskans] it is a time to embrace that the days will soon drawl near as the daylight hours are too dwindle into the cozy months of fall, and then to the thickets of snowy blankets of old man winters’ sleepy dreams.
During this period there is a NATURAL hibernation that all creatures inhabit; and for some, quite passé. To ease into this introspective space, I welcome you all to participate in a ceremonial (to whatever degree that you are comfortable with) passing
In Medicine Wheel Feng Shui™ the energy of the south denotes summertime. Which has Fire energy. This is a time of heightening activity and social gatherings.
Fire represents transformation and is a liberating antic for spiritual renewal to rid of anything that might be ‘weighing you down.’
My work in Interior Alignment® deals primarily with the works of intention. Denise Linn, the creator and founder of Interior Alignment states, “Energy flows where intentions go…”
And I offer a quick mediation to welcome you into this quiet state where you might be able to solidify your intentions. (I would suggest reading thru first)
Find a comfortable spot. You can either sit or lay down… Whatever suits your comfort.
Start by closing your eyes. Scan your body. Notice any areas in your body that might feel tight or tensed. Send these areas golden rays of healing energy…. Good… Give yourself a BIG hug…. GOOD…
Next, let your mind settle like a pebble thrown in a still river…. let the thoughts ripple away… away… away.. until you are stripped in the present moment of time. Sit in the space for a few moments
In this relaxed space, think about anything and everything you feel you want/need to purge: habits, jobs, relationships, ideas, etc. Or, if you are desiring to manifest: think about those things that you wish to come to fruition—a new career, travel, relationship, health, etc.

Remember, YOUR energy will go where you have placed it. Law of attraction= words create our realities… And what better way to honor YOUR authentic self, a heaven where you can settle refuge; a dwelling to retreat.
Home is a sacred spot. Your inner and outer worlds reflect one another. Mother Theresa was AHEAD of her time when she stated, “What can you do to promote world peace? Go home and love your family.”
Give YOUR space some extra as we head into the darker months; be the light!
Added bonus:
Tap into the bagua area of your home.
Draw a “tic-tac-toe” board over the floorplan.
Add an area of bagua corresponds to (9) aspects of ones’ life.
Try sprucing up a particular area…. What areas need some improvement?
Have fun! Explore…
